BIM: An Introduction

One of the most comprehensive resources that has tracked BIM adoption through market survey is the information contained with the SmartMarket Reports. SmartMarket reports are industry research reports developed to understand the current status of implementation of BIM along with perceptions from the industry.  While there are certainly some limitations in the research methods used, the reports provide interesting information.   The first report that we will review is the 2014 Business Value of BIM report.  Note that there are previous reports in 2012 and 2007 that provide some historic information about BIM adoption rates, and the perspective of BIM adoption.  Please download and read the Business Value of BIM (2014). Note that all Smart Market Reports are free to download.
